Resource and Links

Some research tools:

  • TIKR Terminal - A simplified version of CapitalIQ. Similar to Gurufocus, but I like TIKR more because the platform is cleaner to use. Subscription-based. There is also a free version.
  • WhaleWisdom - For 13F filings. You can see what the funds in the US are buying and selling each quarter. They are required to file 45 days after quarter ends.
  • Zen of Investing - a site that tracks upcoming and past spinoffs.
  • GuruFocus - Good for looking up company financials. There is a free version and a premium version.
  • Value Investors Club - The quality of analysis varies greatly. New posts get published every day and a lot of it is for membership applications. It's tough to go through all the content to find the hidden gems. Personally I find the VIC more useful for looking up companies I'm already interested in. It's a good place to see what others have said and to gain new insights.
